| Cynthia Cuculiansky at Expomanagement |
|
Cynthia Cuculiansky , BDO Becher Partner in charge of HR & Organizational Advisory, was invited to make two presentations at HSM Expomanagement's Conference Cycles. These were held on October 27 and 28, and focused Performance Management in critical scenarios and Talent in Argentina: a view into 2009.
Cynthia referred to changes which should be introduced in performance management procedures in order to stay ahead or, at least, react in time in face of a changing environment. She advised not to apply measurement tools used in the past but, instead, to reorient focus to manage the present and future times.
Dynamics of her presentations were enhanced through football imagery to describe talent in Argentina . Indeed, concepts like “going into the field” and “playing the game” were metaphors through which she stated that the definition of talent is changing and senior – experienced – executives are in greater demand today, while strategies focusing young skilled professionals are changing as well, as they will now have enough time to develop.
When asked whether advances made in connection with benefits, work-life balance and career development could be somehow lost in the present scenario, Cynthia stated that, luckily, one cannot always go back. In fact, cutting those benefits could involve getting to the starting line again, back in 2001, and companies have learnt that the price to pay could be too high. Besides this, she stated that expectations about people will tend to rise, they will be told that in order to “enter the World Cup” they must do their best, that “the match is today”. There will a future time for young promises. Focus now will certainly turn to skilled and more experienced persons.

| BDO
Becher in the Argentina 's Best Place to Work List |
|
The survey 2007 conducted by Total Argentina for Revista
Mercado on B2B/ Auditors' Brand Value exhibits BDO Becher
in the 5th position, with a 7,18 score. KPMG leads the
ranking, with 7,62.
The rise in our Firm's brand value as compared to the
preceding period – more than 10% - confirms the success
of our strategy and the marketing tools used to achieve
such positioning, partly due to its most visible side,
the advertising campaign stating that we are the
most argentinian of international firms.
No doubt a key factor contributing to this status was
management's decision to communicate in a straightforwardly
manner that BDO Becher is
a global Firm with local identity.
